Moving to Voralberg from the Uk

Posted in Vorarlberg forum

Hi there,
I would be really happy to meet up with English speaking people over a cup of coffee/tea, in Dornbirn, Bregenz or in Schruns. My husband and I, together with our son, have lived in the UK for over 13 years. He originally comes from Dornbirn, but left when he was 18 to study in Vienna, where we met. We are currently organising our move in August and although my husband's company is helping us, it is still quite a lot to do. BTW, I'm a psychotherapist, Life Coach, Hypnotherapist - and I do love what I do: helping people through the power of listening and reconditioning of mind.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you.
Cynthia

    Hi Cynthia,
I can see your post is a year old, but I just joined the community and was wndering if you already moved here. I moved here last September, I am also a psychologist. Would love to meet over coffee or a drink if you are interested.

I'm sorry Cynthia for not being clear from the beginning. Thanks for the extra info. I got across ISR too, but nothing on how integration with local schools would work for a newcomer. Unfortunately, ISR is not a viable option as it is a bit (more) over the foreseen budget. The rumour has it that the child must attend a local school a full year for language acquisition and preparation before being enrolled in the right scholastic year.
    Do you know the same?

    Hi Tibi,

http://www.isr.ch/location/ The International School Rheintal is 35 minutes by car from Dornbirn.

The International School Rheintal serves the educational needs of the international community in the Liechtenstein, St. Gallen and Vorarlberg region. ISR opened in 2002 with 19 students in classes from Grade 1 to Grade 7. In each successive year one grade level was added, now the school goes to Grade 12. Kindergarten was added in the second year and is offered for 3 to 6 year olds.

The language of instruction in local schools is German.

If you have a facebook account - search for expats in Vorarlberg and Dornbirn International family network.

    Regards

    Cynthia

    Hi Cynthia,

At the end of the month I'll find out if this move becomes real or not.
Till I know for sure, can I ask you please if you looked into the school enrolling for a native English speaking child?
I looked around but not real info available.

Thanks and hope to talk soon,
    Tibi
