Hi all,
I'm considering moving to Malta. A few days ago i had a telephone Interview which worked out in a good way.
I'm curious to know more about taxes over there.
Looking around i have found this side: http://www.ird.gov.mt/v1/services/taxrates.aspx
Considering a salary "19,501 &over"...let's say 20.000: the Taxrate is 35%.
I don't understand what the Deduct of 4,675.00 stays for. Is there someone able to explain please?
Are there any other fix taxes, like health-insurance i have to consider?
Is it possibile to live in a "good way" ( not living in luxury ) with the above as example choosen salary?
Maybe there is someone to give a "real example"...
I have read a lot of threads here and generally in internet about flat rent, food and stuff just above mentioned is not clear to me!!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Nadine, Leonti
thx for your replies and explaining how that stuff works. Not easy in my eyes to understand for a foreigner!
@Leonti: thx for your extensive explanation but i guess i need a few minutes to understand :D
@nadine: i'm going to be employee as programmer in IT-Sector ( personal interview preconditioned )
You think with a salary round about 20.000€ ( pre-tax ) the way of living in Malta is comfortable ( not living in luxury )?
Happy for all hints you can make!
grazie, thx, danke :)

Ci vediamo a Malta :)
