Crosby Mansion Open House
The Friends of Crosby Mansion will hold an open house on Sunday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Docents will give talks and answer questions on the first floor. The library contains original Japanese Leather Paper, a coffered ceiling and a partial barrel vault. Book signing by Dorothy Leone, author of "Where The Herring Run," a novel based on the life of Albert Crosby, who built the mansion. Visit a residence named "Tawasentha" from a bygone era of opulence in which imported Indian mahogany wood was painted white as a sign of wealth. See different colored British ceramic tiles around each of the many fireplaces. View Cape Cod Bay from the 3rd floor balcony. $5 donation requested from visitors over 12.
